I had not written in the versus series from quite a while and thus I am back with a faceoff series where I would talk and compare two job descriptions : Data Analyst and Business Analyst!

Who is Data Analyst?
As I have mentioned in my previous post where I talked about Data Analyst Job description. A data analyst is someone who collects, cleans, and interprets data sets in order to answer a question or solve a problem.
In short, his major part of the day revolves around the task of data analysis.
Data analysis is the process of gleaning insights from data to help inform better business decisions. The process of analyzing data typically moves through 5 common phases:
- Identify the data you want to analyze
- Collect the data
- Clean the data in preparation for analysis
- Analyze the data
- Interpret the results of the analysis
Skills required for Data Analyst
There are some common and critical skills which you would definitely require in order to perform your job well apart from having sound background knowledge of the industry in which you are working.
