I have been writing about Product Management a lot lately. All glittery stuff ! yeah.. but like every coin has two sides.. so thus our beloved Product Management role does!
In this story I would talk some of the cons/ challenges that Product Managers face in their work routines.
Without any delay lets get into it!
Cons/Irritations faced while you being a Product Manager!
- The worst thing about being a Product Manager is having to overcome the limitations imposed by budget and technology.
- You have to budget a lot of time around communication while concentrating on product details.
- You would need to learn to be comfortable being accountable for things largely out of your control.
- For PM, internal politics can be an acute pain point due to the cross-functional nature of the role. Most workers don’t have to deal with every department. Their interactions usually limited to a subset of the total organization.
- One of the downside of being a Product Manager is that you are the point person and jack-of-all-trades person which actually this job demands. There’s almost nothing you can’t do, so you’re asked to do everything.
