Why don't I like Google Data Studio and sucks as the main data reporting tool?

Recently I talked about Tableau and Data Studio data visualization tools and mentioned their pros and cons of them. While Tableau has been around with us for quite a while, Google Data Studio is comparatively new in the market, and it's getting updated regularly. In my workplace, I have been using Google Data Studio for quite a while now and there are some things that bother me sometimes.

So, it's not a bashing post for Google Data Studio implying that it's a bad tool and shouldn’t be used. I have already mentioned its pros and the fact that it's a totally free tool that is based just on the browser! in my previous post.

Why does Google Data Studio Suck?

Google Data Studio is a Data Reporting tool that is browse-based and would seamlessly connection with any of the Google data sources such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Google Sheets, etc. It's quick, easy, and simple to use and create and later on schedule reports.

But but but…

  1. It's not real-time! Yes! the minimum interval of data refresh is 15 minutes! If you care about the accuracy and real-time value of your data, you might need to use Chrome plugins(and also keep your browser…
